RC Sailing

07/07/2021 • At Como Lake, Coquitlam

My dad recently invested in his long-forgotten hobby of RC sailboats. He made this DragonForce 65 from a kit with a bigger sail. He’s been out on Como Lake twice before with my family, but this is my first time seeing his sailboat in the water. Also, I recently got the new Fuji XF 70-300mm as a grad gift. This was the perfect testing grounds for a first shoot with the lens. I also experimented with its macro capabilities on a moth that was on the edge of the path. The OIS is amazing, with shots (not shown) taken handheld at 1s with incredible clarity. Its autofocus and video are smooth with great depth of field despite its small aperture. Overall, the lens and the boat are great additions to our hobbies.

About me

Welcome to my photography repository! This is (almost) all the photos I’ve taken as a hobbist, volunteer, and freelancer.

Since I took up photography as a hobby when I was 13, I’ve broadly focused on nature and cityscapes. My volunteer and commission work departs from that norm: I’ve photographed puppies, house renovations, and events so far.

If you like my pictures and want to get one printed, are interested in working with me, or just want to say hi, feel free to reach out to me 🙂
